Thomas DeRita, Jr.Thomas DeRita, Jr., is the Founder and Chief Executive officer of Resource Group N.A.  Under his leadership, RGNA has emerged as on of Florida’s premier government relations firms.

For more than forty years, he has advised and represented numerous individuals, corporations and non-profits in public affairs, political fundraising and business development.

He has raised millions of dollars for various local, state and federal candidates in Florida and throughout the country.

Prior to founding Resource Group N.A., Tom served as the Congressional Liaison for the South Florida Automotive Dealers Chapter of the American International Automobile Dealers Association.  In addition, he held various executive positions with Hoffman LaRoche.

For more that thirty years, Tom held executive management positions and ownership interests with various automobile companies.  During his years in the automotive industry, Tom received numerous awards and honors for his outstanding achievements.  In 2002, he was appointed by Commissioner Charles Bronson to serve on the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services’ Motor Vehicle Repair Advisory Council.

His active leadership in the business community and with numerous charitable organizations in Palm Beach and Martin Counties has forged long personal relationships with local, state and federal elected officials.  In 1992, Tom founded the Big Heart Brigade, an organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of those in need by providing a holiday meal and other support.  Each year, the Big Heart Brigade undertakes an annual effort to supply Thanksgiving meals to tens of thousands of people thoughout South Florida.  To date, the Big Heart Brigade has fed more than 1.2 million people.

Tom has served on many community boards including Big Heart Brigade, Martin Memorial Health System Foundation, YMCA of the Treasure Coast, Economic Council of Martin County (Past President) and the Adam Walsh Foundation.  In 2002, he received the prestigious Rainbow Award from the Missing and Exploited Children - Adam Walsh Foundation.

Tom was appointed by former Florida Governor Charlie Crist to serve on his Transitions Team in 2006.  Governor Crist appointed Tom to the Judicial Nominating Committee for the 15th Circuit Court in 2008.  In 2010, the Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Council named Tom DeRita - “Man of the Year,” for outstanding service to that organization.

Tom Served as an Adjunct Professor teaching business and as a member of the Board of Governors at Northwood University.  He earned a business degree from the University of Rhode Island.  In 2000, Northwood University honored Tom with a Doctor of Laws degree.  Appointed to Board of Keiser University new flagship campus, formerly Northwood University of West Palm Beach, after spending 23 years as a Board of Governor at Northwood, DeRita agrees to remain with Keiser. DeRita says, "This is the best possible move for Keiser as they bring a vibrant new approach to the residential campus while enhancing the Northwood ideals. I believe this new level of professional will excel while adding a residential element to Keiser's growing footprint in Florida and its international campuses."
